Capital Day Care is regarded for its high retention of its staff members. All permanent staff are required to have a diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Province awarded equivalency or be working towards completing the program from an accredited college in Ontario. Those staff with a diploma in ECE are registered with the college and maintain their yearly memberships. All staff have completed training in Red Cross CPR and First Aid; these requirements are always kept up to date with routine courses offered by qualified educators. All staff must complete Police background checks to work with the vulnerable sector completed and routinely monitored by the Ministry of Education.

Staff participate regularly in both staff and program meetings as well as workshops to enhance their skills as educators.

All permanent staff are members of CUPE local 2204 Childcare workers of Eastern Ontario. We are early childhood educators, cooks, cleaners, clerical and administrative staff, co-ordinators, home visitors, resource teachers and integration advisors, teachers and supervisors and bus attendants working in specialized childcare settings.
